Wacchi reads the current state of your charger and battery and puts two numbers in the menu bar. That's the whole app. It has no server, no analytics, and no account.
What it reads
The power information macOS already keeps: the charger's name and maximum wattage, the power coming in from it, the battery level and whether it is charging, and the charge limit set in System Settings. macOS makes all of this available to ordinary apps, so Wacchi asks for no special permission.
Nothing leaves the Mac
The readings are used to draw the numbers in the menu bar and nothing else. Nothing is stored, collected, or uploaded, and no history is kept. There is nowhere for it to be uploaded to.
Update checks go to GitHub
Wacchi checks for a new version once when it starts, not on a timer. The check fetches a small file from its GitHub Releases page, so GitHub sees the request the way it sees any download, including your IP address. It carries nothing about your power.
No analytics, ever
There is no crash reporting, no usage tracking, no unique identifier, and no third-party SDK of any kind in the app.

Wacchi is open source under the MIT license, so none of the above has to be taken on trust. Read the source, or open an issue if something looks wrong.
Changes
If a future version starts doing something new with your data, this page gets updated before that version ships.
